Light & Wonder Parts Ways with the CEO of Its Social Casino Business, SciPlay

Players of SciPlay’s social casino titles are unlikely to see an immediate shift in what they can play, but a major leadership change is now set at the top of the business. Light & Wonder says it is parting ways with Josh Wilson, chief executive officer of its SciPlay social casino division, with a new interim setup already named.

Wilson will step down effective October 30, 2026. Light & Wonder said Wilson will stay in the role through that date to support a smooth handover, while the company conducts a search for a permanent successor.

Starting November 1, 2026, Light & Wonder CFO Oliver Chow will take executive oversight of the SciPlay division. Chow will work with SciPlay’s existing leadership team to keep day-to-day operations running during the transition, and he will continue as CFO of Light & Wonder at the same time.

Light & Wonder noted that SciPlay remains a distinct reporting segment inside the wider company, and that the leadership change does not alter its strategy for the social casino business. In comments on the move, Light & Wonder CEO and president Matt Wilson credited Josh Wilson with more than 20 years of service and said he was instrumental in major milestones including SciPlay’s initial public offering and building a portfolio of social casino content.

Separately, Light & Wonder also said it has released Gremlins After Midnight, a new slot game inspired by the Gremlins movie, where the gremlins can trigger features intended to increase payout potential.
